1. The duration of clinical training during the Internship in Clinical Optometry at Vijaya Nethralaya Super Speciality Eye Hospital is 1 year (12 complete months)
2. Successful completion of 6 semesters/ 3 years of academics in the Optometry UG degree is mandatory to be eligible to pursue this clinical training programme.
3. Students are eligible for 15 days of leave in a year apart from Sundays. There will be an extension of the Internship for candidates availing long leave of more than 15
days due to any unforeseen circumstances. Study leave will not be sanctioned for any exams during the internship.
4. Students will not be encouraged to attend any interview/ job placement until the successful completion of the internship.
5. Emergency leave will be approved only on submitting authentic documents.
6. The standard work timings would be 9 am to 8 pm.
7. Vijaya Nethralaya Super Speciality Eye Hospital will not provide any accommodation.
8. For the first 6 months, 2,000 stipends and for the last 6 months 4,000 stipends will be provided during the internship. ( applicable only for students who pass with distinction, scoring above 80%.)
9. The interns are expected to maintain professional etiquette which includes honesty, integrity and confidentiality.
10. Termination with no certificate in case of:
a. False document submission
b. Dishonesty
c. Having backlog
d. Improper behaviour with the opposite gender
e. Violating the rules and the instructions of the superiors.
f. Improper behaviour towards patients.
11. The candidate will be terminated from the internship in case of absence from duty without prior information to the concerned authority for more than 7 days
